Crowd Symbols: The Forest I

Process

For this project, I created prints using a gelli plate with acrylic paint. The first layer painted on the plate becomes the background layer on the plate, so for this print, I painted the red trees first, then rolled a layer of blue-green paint on top of it. After that, I took my scraping tool and moved it around the plate. Going in with a paper towel, I blotted the trunks of the trees to bring them into the foreground.
